AISHWARYA to promote AMITABHS's PA

Aishwary Rai Bachchan is in real life is acting as a good Daughter-in-law to her father-in-law Amitabh Bachchan.

After finishing the shoot of her film RAVANA, Aishwarya is now paying full attention to the marketing strategy of AB Corp. forthcoming film PA, starring Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan and directed by Balki of CHEENI KUM fame. She is leaving no stone unturned to ensure the film's success and has taken in-charge of marketing decisions.

It may be recalled that the Wax figure which is dressed in a traditional black sherwani suit with a embroidery filled gold and black shawl, is the first figure to be part of all-new Bollywood Zone at Madame Tussauds New York's .

The wax figure was placed in the centre of the green carpet on the first day of the event.

Amitabh Bachchan the brand ambassador of IIFA, his son Abhishek and daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai Bachchan posed with the statue alongwith various Celebrities, dignitaries and even some members from the audience.

AMITABH BACHCHAN REJECTS DOCTORATE HONOUR

As mentioned in my earlier blog http://indianmoviestvmasala.blogspot.com/2009/05/amitabh-bachchan-may-refuse-doctorate.html, about Big B asking his fans' opinion on his blog http://bigb.bigadda.com/, whether he should accept the Doctorate Honour from Queensland University, which were to be conferred on him in July. This was in view of the series of recent Racial attacks that took place upon Indian Students in Melbourne & Sydney.

Well Amitabh Bachchan has rightly taken the decision and has reacted strongly to the said racial attacks by rejecting the above mentioned an honorary doctorate.

Big B in his latest Blog has written :

"I write to you with a heavy heart on a matter that has now reached extremely sensitive proportions.

I have been reading and watching through the media the most unfortunate and violent attacks on Indian students in Australia; some of them lying in a most critical condition in hospital. I have observed with utter dismay the anguish that these incidents have caused to the families of those who have become unfortunate victims.

The Queensland University of Technology has very graciously offered only last week, to confer an Honorary Doctorate to me for my contribution to the world of entertainment.

"Under the prevailing circumstances I find it inappropriate at this juncture, to accept this decoration. My conscience is profoundly unsettled at the moment and there seems to be a moral disjuncture between the suffering of these students and my own approbation.

I have the highest respect for your illustrious Institution and wish to express my deepest regard for the recognition it bestows me with. I do not wish to offend in any manner this kind gesture by the Queensland University of Technology, but I do hope that you will understand my present feelings."

IIFA 2009 AWARDS IN MACAU, CHINA

AISHWARYA RAI BACHCHAN TO PERFORM AT IIFA AWARDS 2009, MACAU

The much awaited 10th IDEA IIFA (The International Indian Film Academy) Awards will be showcased in exotic city of MACAU at The Venetian Macao Resort Hotel, during June 11-13 .

This was announced at the Grand Hyatt, Mumbai on April 28, 2009 by IIFA Brand Ambassador Amitabh Bachchan.

And Big B''s daughter-in-law AISHWARYA RAI BACHCHAN will perform during the awards nite on June 13, it may be recalled that Aish had also performed at IIFA in Amsterdam in 2005. Also performing at the show will be Sonam Kapoor, who will make her debut on stage, and Kareena Kapoor.

The IIFA award ceremony has travelled across various continents from London, Yorkshire and Amsterdam in Europe, Johannesberg & Sun City in South Africa and Singapore, Malaysia, Dubai & Bangkok in Asia.

AMITABH BACHCHAN MAY REFUSE DOCTORATE FROM QUEENSLAND UNIVERSITY, AUSTRALIAN

In view if the recent RACIAL ATTACKS on INDIAN STUDENTS in Melbourne & Sydney in Australia, our Big B Amitabh Bachchan is contemplating to refuse the DOCTORATE HONOUR which will be conferred on him by Queensland University, Australia, in July.

According to Amitabh, his conscience does not allow him to accept this honour from the country where Indian students are being targeted for racial attacks. Big B in his blog http://bigb.bigadda.com has asked for the views from his fans and has written -

“Last week, I have accepted from the Queensland University of Technology, Brisbane, Australia an offer of decorating me with an Honarary Doctorate for my contribution to the world of entertainment. This issue was under discussion and consideration by the University Board for some months and has now fructified. It is to be conferred on me in the month of July as a part of the celebrations being held there, to commemorate a retrospective of my films to be inaugurated in the city.

I mean no disrespect to the Institution that honors me, but under the present circumstances, where citizens of my own country are subjected to such acts of inhuman horror, my conscience does not permit me to accept this decoration from a country that perpetrates such indignity to my fellow countrymen. And here is where I need your inputs. Am I right in thinking so. And if yes then is my act of refusing the honor justified or not. I shall put this up as my POLL question and shall feel obliged if EF can indicate to me their opinion, for me to be ale to take the correct action.”

It may be recalled that 4 students have been attacked in Melbourne and Sydney in several racial slurs within a short span 3-4 weeks and in one of these attacks an Indian students Shravan Kumar is critically injured and is recuperating in a Melbourne hospital.

AMITABH BACHCHAN DETAINED AT MUMBAI AIRPORT

Can you believe that our BIG B, Amitabh Bachchan was detained for a few minutes at Mumbai airport on Friday, Dec. 5, and the reason being he was carrying a pistol, whose Serial No. didn’t match with the license document, he had at that time.

The star was flying to Pune by Mumbai-Pune Jet Airways flight, and was carrying the pistol in his check-in baggage. When his baggage was screened, airline security staff found the said weapon, the Sl. No. of which did not match with the license papers. As per the laws, the Bureau of Civil Aviation permits carrying licensed arms only on flights. Subsequently, Amitabh decided to send back the gun to his home alongwith his staff person and boarded the flight scheduled to leave at 9.30 a.m. However, the news are that airport police has written to the airline demanding an explanation as to why Big B was let off without informing them. To this, a Jet Airways spokesperson said the matter was not reported to the police as there was no suspicion and Amitabh cooperated with them.
