Shilpa Shetty Marries Raj Kundra

Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty finally marries her love interest Raj Kundra, a London based businessman, whom she was dating for the past two and half years.

The Marriage took place on Nov. 22 in a farm house at Khandala, a beautiful hill station in Maharashtra, with very close friends and relatives being invited.

Shilpa was dressed in traditional saree in burgundy and red and crystals stitched on the choli.

The grand reception was held at Hotel Grand Hyatt a Mumbai hotel on Nov. 24, with a very impressive guest list including Amitabh Bachchan, Shahrukh Khan, his wife Gauri, Hrithik Roshan and Sussanne Roshan, Govinda, Rani Mukherjee, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Fardeen Khan, Vivek Oberoi, Sameera Reddy, Amisha Patel, Kangana Ranaut, Manish Malhotra, Karan Johar, Vivek Oberoi, Rekha & Jaya Pradha alongwith IPL chairmans Lalit Modi, Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel and Gujarat CM Narendra Modi.

Shilpa wore a golden outfit designed by Tarun Tahiliani and Raj Kundra sported a rich black Sherwani.

Bollywood Badshah SRK turns 44 today. And he reached Mumbai from London via New Delhi yesterday night with his wife Gauri and kids to celebrate his birthday with a bang.

He will be throwing a part for his close friends Hrithik, Karan Johar, Farah Khan, Arjun Rampal, Juhi Chawla etc. And will also be greeting his fans in front his palatial bungalow Mannat.

Long live King Khan and keep entertaining your fans worldwide. Waiting eagerly for his film "MY NAME IS KHAN".

PRIYANKA CHOPRA to play 12 characters

PRIYANKA CHOPRA plays 12 characters in her forthcoming film "What's Your Raashee" directed by Ashutosh Gowariker and pairing opposite her is her ex-boyfriend Harman Baweja.

And according to her this is the most difficult film of her carrer, since she had to look different in all of the characters with different body language, voice, accent and she did not got enough time to prepare for the characterization.

SHAH RUKH KHAN detained in USA

In a shocking news , Bollywood Superstar Shah Rukh Khan aka King Khan was detained at Newark airport for almost 2 hours, whereas his assistant Subhash Jain was let off without interrogation. SRK arrived today in Newark International Airport in New York to attend Independence Day function in USA. On his arrival, Security agencies interrogated him for nearly 2 hours, even his bodyguard was also detained. SRK was then released when Indian Embassy Officials stepped in.

This was quite shocking and unfortunate for Indian community, since SRK is well known celebrity worldover, with his Wax statue at Madam Tusauds Museum. Bollywood has slammed USA for the incident and many remarks have come including director Mahesh Bhatt.

AAMIR KHAN's wife Kiran has miscarriage

Bad news for Aamir and his fans. Aamir posted on his blog today on Aug. 12, the news about miscarriage of his wife :

"I have bad news folks. Kiran and I lost our baby. Despite our best efforts we were unable to avert a miscarriage. The last two months have been a struggle for us and that is one of the reasons I was absent from the blog in more ways than one. I need time to heal. I will be away for a while,"

Hrithik Roshan tattoes wife's Sussanne name on his wrist

Hrithik Roshan seems to be splashing water on to the rumours of his link-up with his co-star Barbara Mori, who has been paired opposite Hrithik in his forthcoming movie KITES.

In a surprise move to please his wife Sussanne, he got his left wrist tattoed with the name of Sussanne, who was holidaying in London with her friends Gauri Khan and others. Tattoo artist Sameer Patange did the job for Hrithik.

So here's another star being bitten by tattoo bug after Saif Ali Khan and Sanjay Dutt.

Shah Rukh Khan : MY NAME IS KHAN

Thw hot pair of Shah Rukh Khan-Kajol will be back on sreen with Karan Johar's 'My Name is Khan', and the flm before it's release has created a record i the way that Fox Star Studios are reported to have bought the film's marketing and distribution rights for a mind boggling Rs.100 crore, thus making it a biggest distribution rights deal in the India Film Industry.

Moreover, the film has surpassed the figures of Aamir Khan's 'Ghajini', which was sold at Rs.90 crore and Akshay Kumar's 'Singh is Kinng' figures of Rs.60 Crores.

"LOVE AAJ KAL" Saif Ali Khan turns Producer

The film also stars yesteryear hit couple Neetu Singh and Rishi Kapoor along with Rahul Khanna. "LOVE AAJ KAL" is directed by Imtiaz Ali of `Jab We Met' fame. And do you know who recommended Imtiaz Ali to Saif Ali Khan, none other than Saif's love Kareena Kapoor, who has delivered a Super Hit "JAB WE MET" with Imtiaz Ali.

This was disclosed by Saif who was in New Delhi with his co-star Deepika Padukone and Imtiaz Ali to promote their film. Saif told reporters, "Kareena highly recommended Imtiaz when I decided to produce a film. At that time 'Jab We Met' hadn't released. So I met him... it was the script and the way he narrated it to me that really impressed me and we decided to make 'Love Aaj Kal',".

He further added "I love the way Imtiaz works. He is amazing,".

KAMBAKKHT ISHQ bumper opening becomes Super Hit

So Akki has finally delivered a hit after 3 Flops "Tasveer, Chandni Chowk to China & Tashan".

Akshay Kumar has proved all his detractors wrong, since 'Kambakkht Ishq' opened to a bumper opening and has garnered a whopping Rs 46 crore at the box office in its opening weekend including Rs 32 crore earnings from the domestic Box Office. Overall the film has grossed over Rs 100 crores worldwide in its very first week. This was confirmed by Eros International, the film's co-producer and distributorsaid in a statement. The film was released in about 2,000 screens world-wide, cost Rs 75 crore.

Thus Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor starrer Kambakkht Ishq has seen one of the most successful openings in the Bollywood.

The film is produced by Sajid Nadiadwala of Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment and Eros International and directed by newcomer Shabbir Khan.

Shah Rukh becomes Dr. Shah Rukh Khan

Bollywood Badshah Shah Rukh Khan has become Dr. Shah Rukh Khan now. He was conferred with the honorary Doctorate in Arts & Culture, by Bedfordshire University, a British University at a glittering ceremony held on July 10.

SRK was quite excited on getting the honour and jokingly said "Interestingly my kids don't understand this doctorate and believe I will be awarded a stethoscope". He further added "I get the feeling that I should further the cause of those underprivileged children who don't get the opportunity to educate themselves,''

The honour was conferred to Shah Rukh by Vice Chancellor of University Professor Les Ebdon. Indian High Commissioner Shiv Shankar Mukherjee was also present at the event.

So another feather on Shah Rukh's cap, Congratulations.

Deepika Padukone - Love Aaj Kal

Deepika Padukone is waiting eagerly and excited for her latest film "LOVE AAJ KAL", releasing on July 31. Incidenatlly this is the first film to be produced by Saif Ali Khan, who also plays the love interest of Deepika in the film, which is directed by Imtiaz Ali of `Jab We Met' fame.

When we mention of Deepika's love interest, one interesting fact comes out is that, Deepika in most of her films have acted opposite Actors almost double of her age.

To start with - Shah Rukh Khan, with whom she made her debut in "OM SHANTI OM", then opposite Akshay Kumar, who is 42, in "CHANDNI CHOWK TO CHINA".

Now in Love Aaj Kal, Saif is 39. Isn't it interesting or Deepika loves old men ???

Shahid beats Kareena, becomes Sexiest Vegetarian

In a recent poll conducted by PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals), Shahid Kapur has emerged as the most SEXIEST VEGETARIAN in Asia.

And do you know, who was one of the contenders & competitors of Shahid, none other than Kareena Kapoor, ex-girlfriend of Shahid, who incidentally turned Vegetarian on the insistence of Shahid Kapur.

Other contenders were Taiwanese Actor cum singer Barbie Hsu, Bollywood actress Mahima Chaudhary, Hong Kong pop star Stephy Tang, Mongolian Singer Nominjin etc.

"NEW YORK" - FILM REVIEW

Here comes one of the most awaited Bollywood movie, especially giving a huge relief to film lovers from the draught of movies since April 2009, owing to the strike between Multiplex Owners & Producers.

And no wonders doing justice to the promos, "NEW YORK" surpasses the expectations of audience. Contrary to Kabir Khan’s directorial venture “KABUL EXPRESS”, which was an extended version of a documentary film, he comes back with a hardcore commercial thriller which will be appreciated by one and all.



“NEW YORK” is a story of friendship set against the backdrop of New York and post 9/11 happenings. Omar (Neil Nitin Mukesh) who goes to USA for the first time and meets Sam (John Abraham) and Maya (Katrina Kaif). It is the story of these 3 friends who are enjoying their life in New York, but suddenly one day the world around them changes post 9/11 WTC attack and their lives are turned upside down. The turning point comes with the introduction of FBI undercover agent Roshan (Irrfan Khan).

The scenes involving FBI and how it rounds up the 9/11 suspects have been brilliantly shot just like a Hollywood film, kudos to Kabir Khan for bring genuinity to the film contrary to typical Bollywood masala flicks. He has deftly depicted the mentality of USA after 9/11 attacks, specially the way this country handled and tortured the suspects, in the absence of proper evidences.

Kabir Khan skillfully keeps the film under his control, properly with an optimum balance of offbeat & commercial ingredients. The film has all the ingredients of a blockbuster such as – pace, thrill, drama, emotion, action etc., which keeps the audience on the edge of the seat.

As regards to acting, surprise package is Neil Nitin Mukesh, who does justice to the most intricate role among the three protagonists.

John Abraham comes out of his Dostana trunks and in place of his well toned body shows his acting potential, which has been well exploited by Kabir Khan, especially the scenes of his detention are spine chilling plus his interaction scenes with Irrfan Khan are worth mentioning. In one of his interviews John rightly said that public will get to see altogether John in NEW YORK.


Katrina Kaif looks beautiful as usual and also does justice to her role. Her chemistry with both John & Neil is amazing. The performance by all 3 can easily be termed as the best ones of their career. Irrfan Khan once again is fantastic.

The other star of the film is it’s story by Aditya Chopra, which never looses the grip. Cinematography too is beautiful. Seems that the whole team is gonna ensure that "NEW YORK" strikes gold in most of the award functions.

Overall, “NEW YORK” is a must watch and bring backs Yash Raj banner once again to the form, since few of their last films have been duds.

I will give 4 out of 5 to the film, which surely has all the ingredients of a Box Office Blockbuster.

SALMAN KHAN TO PLAY A NEGATIVE ROLE

Salman Khan for the first time in his life is going to play a Negative role of a corrupt Police Inspector in the forthcoming film “DABANG”. Incidentally the film will be produced by his brother Arbaaz Khan, who felt that it’s not because Sallu is his brother, so he will be playing such a role in his film, rather the role of a corrupt Paan chewing corrupt Cop, mouthing foul language suits best on Salman Khan.

The film will be directed by Abhinav Kashyap, brother of Anurag Kashyap of (DEV D & GULAAL fame). And do you know who will play the female lead in the film, it is Sonakshi Sinha, daughetr of Shatrughan Sinha.

It will be interesting to see, since Salman Khan has always gone for the stereotype roles in Bollywood films.

REMAKE OF "QURBANI" BY SANJAY DUTT

Do you remember the old Super Hit Hindi fim “QURBANI” directed by Freroz Khan and starring Vinod Khanna, Zeenat Aman, Feroz Khan & Amjad Khan. Yes the same film will be having his remake amost after 30 years.

Earlier the film was to be produced & directed by Sanjay Gupta, but after the demise of veteran Feroz Khan, the project took a back step.

Now the film rights of Qurbani has been acquired by Sanjay Dutt (friend turned foe of Sanjay Gupta) under Sanjay Dutt Productions. It just happened that Fardeen Khan and Sanjay Dutt jelled along very well while shoting for the film “ALL THE BEST” in Goa, which led to the rebirth of remaking Qurbani.

Now Fardeen Khan will play the role played by his father Feroz Khan and Saif Ali Khan the role of Vinod Khanna And can you guess who will be enacting the popular role of Amjad Khan, it’s none other than Sanjay Dutt, who feels that Chewing Gum chewing Police Inspector’s act is the most interesting part of Qurbani and it will fit him best. Now let’s see who get to play the lead female role of glamorous Zeenat Aman (guess sexy Bipasha Basu).

Soha Ali Khan refuses to Kiss Emraan Hashmi

The Bollywood kissing star Emraan Hashmi, who is famous for his kissing scenes with her female lead stars in his films, was not to be lucky this time.

It just happened that his co-star Soha Ali Khan refused to do a kissing scene with Emraan for thier forthcoming film "TUM MILE", to be directed by Kunal Deshmukh, under Vishesh Films banner. Initially Soha did agree for the kissing scene, while on the script stage, but when it came to the shooting day, she backed out and refused to kiss Emraan. Kunal tried to convince her, since the scene was important part of the script, but before she could agree, Emraan came to know about Soha's refusal. This hurt the ego of Kissing Star, as a result Emraan got upset and he himself refused to shoot for the scene.

Kunal still hopes that both the stars will set aside their egos and enact the said kissing scene for the film, which is based on July 26, 2005 Mumbai floods. Incidentally, the film is expected to be released in July end.

It was a big task to recreate the Mumbai floods scenario, for which a huge set was erected.

According to the director “There were plenty of problems and I had to give out my best in a certain budget. We needed a studio floor bigger than usual studio floors with a waterproof ground. I was looking at something cheaper and I got it in Bhandup with a concrete floor," he said. "Then standing 12 hours in water every single day had its effects. We had to take a lot of precautions like Hepatitis B shots. Still I suffered a very bad skin reaction and Emraan got a bad eye. Luckily there were no long-term health issues," he added.

Pyaar Impossible is the first film, Priyanaka has signed after Ashutosh Gowariker's 'What's Your Raashee?', co-starring her ex-boyfriend Harman Baweja.

Pyaar Impossible will be directed by Jugal Hansraj, as per reports, film's plot is based on hollywood film 'Notting Hill' which depicts the relationship between a star, played by Julia Roberts and her fan Hugh Grant.

SHINEY AHUJA admits committing rape, sent to jail

In a shocking development, Bollywood actor Shiney Ahuja admitted his crime of raping her 19 year old maid servant, as a result he has been sent to 3 days police custody, by a Mumbai court.

As mentioned in my earlier blog, http://indianmoviestvmasala.blogspot.com/2009/06/shiney-ahuja-accused-of-rape.html, Shiney was arrested on Sunday night after the victim had lodged a complaint and accused Shiney of raping him.

He was produced in Andheri court this afternoon under tight security, and subsequently ahs been booked under Section 376 (Rape), Section 346 (Wrongful restraint) and Section 506 (Threat to Kill) under the Indian Penal Code (IPC). And to add to Shiney's woes, if the charges are found to be true, he may have to serve a minimum jail term of seven years.

According to an official, both Shiney and the victim maid servany have undergone medical tests in a government hospital and the victim's medical reports are positive.

The victim has been working under Shiney Ahuja as a domestic help for the past one year and she has accused the actor of repeatedly raping her. Even, Shiney has admitted unser Police interrogations, that he had a physical relationship with the victim. Further, he said that he could have committed the crime while he was drunk.

Shiney is said to be living alone in Mumbai after seperation from his wife and the couple has a daughter. Shiney is known for his scting prowess in "GANGSTER", "HAZAARON KHWAISHEIN AISI" & "LIFE IN A METRO".
