RAKHI SAWANT chooses her Groom in "SWAYAMVAR"

For the first time in Indian Television History, Bollywood film actor and Item Girl Rakhi Sawant chose her life partner in the form of Toronto based businessman Elesh Parujanwala, during a reality TV Show 'Rakhi ka Swayamvar', which was telecast live on NDTV Imagine channel on Sunday, August 02 and went on for 26 episodes. The event was held at the Hotel Leela Kampinsky.

There were 3 finalists among the 16 contestants - 22 years Manas Katyal and businessman Chhitiz Jain, both from New Delhi and Elesh Parujanwala from Toronto.

Rakhi was dressed up in red and gold lehenga choli designed by Neeta Lulla and kundan jewellery designed by Farah Ali Khan, and was looking just like a fairy tale queen. Whereas the to be grooms were dressed in traditional sherwanis and turbans for their big day.

Both Rakhi and Elesh were too much excited after the engagement. Rakhi said 'I have been watching Elesh from day one. On and off the camera, he has been the same and has really taken care of me. He is everything I was looking for and I am glad to have found him on the Swayamvar. She further added, 'Today is our engagement. I am ready to get married now, but we need to understand each other better off camera. We will soon get married in front of all of you in keeping with all our traditions,'.

Elesh also told that they will look for an auspicious day and will get married later.

2. Then follws is a hot performance by hot GAUHAR KHAN on "Alla Duhai Ha" from film RACE.

3. The next performances are from the contestants - Parul Chauhan, Monica Bedi, Shilpa Shukla, Bhagyashree, Anand Raj Anand & Hard Kaur, followed by dance from the comperes - Rohit Roy and Shweta Tiwari.

4. In between some awards have also been presented as -

a) "Latke Jhatke Awards" which goes to both te judges Saroj Khan and Vibhavi.

JHALAK DIKHLA JA - SEASON 3

JHALAK DIKHLA JA, SEASON 3, a Dance Reality Show, started on SONY ENETERTAINMENT TELEVISION yesterday (Feb. 27, 9 pm), following the stupendous success of it’s Season 1 & 2.

The show started with the dance performance by Season 1 & 2 winners – Mona Singh & Prachi Desai respectively.

The 12 celebrities from different fields will be paired with choreographers who will help and guide them to perform, the celebrities are as follows -

1. Mohinder Amarnath – Indian Cricket legend, who was the star performer in India’s 1983 World Cup Win.

2. Bhaichung Bhutia – Indian Star Football player.

3. Anand Raj Anand – Music Director cum Singer in Indian Film Industry.

4. Gauhar Khan – Famous Indian Model.

5. Monica Bedi – Needs no introduction now, Still, one time Indian film actress, who later was embroiled in underworld controversy with Abu Salem, and who made a comeback with BIGG BOSS 2, on COLORS Channel, last year.

6. Shilpa Shukla – She was one of the Hockey Players (Bindiya) in the superhit film CHAK DE INDIA.

7. Hard Kaur – A famous RAP SONG Performer.

RAKHI SAWANT - “ARRE DEEWANO MUJHE PAHCHANO”

Mona Singh is now ready to do another reality show after wining earlier dance based reality shows – “JHALAK DIKHLAJA & EK KHILADI EK HASEENA”.

The new show named “ARRE DEEWANO MUJHE PAHCHANO” is based on Stand-up comedy and other participants (besides her) expected are – Rakhi Sawant, Mandira Bedi, Mahesh Manjrekar, Shweta Keswani, Divya Dutta, Yash Tonk and bad man Gulshan Kumar. The anchor of the show will be Kavita Kaushik.

The show is expected to be aired on STAR PLUS on January 02.

FARHAN AKHTAR is all set to be seen in anew role, now as a host of new TV SHOW- OYE! IT’S FRIDAY, which premieres on Dec. 12, Friday on NDTV IMAGINE TV Channel.

And the first celebrity guest of the show will be HRITHIK ROSHAN, with whom Farhan shares a great rapport. Hrithik shares his recent experience of BORA BORA islands where he was holidaying with his wife SUZANNE. Also he talks about his experience of meeting Michael Jackson.

Hrithik was particularly impressed with the OYE GIRLS, who will be seen in all the episodes – TANYA, SOPHIE, ANNA, CARLY, KATIE & INDIA.

Also, NEHA DHUPIA gets to peform in the show.

"CHHOTE MIYAN" NEW TV SHOW

RAHUL MAHAJAN – CHHOTE MIYAN

It seems that Rahul Mahajan is busy cashing on the popularity he got from recently concluded BIG BOSS 2. Now he will be seen as a judge alongwith TV/ FILM actor SACHIN, in a new Television show called “CHHOTE MIYAN”. The show will be aired on COLORS entertainment channel from next week, which will showcase the stand-up comedy talent of children aged between 6 to 12 years.

In the show, 13 children will try to outsmart one another with new jokes, gags and stand-up acts. It’s being hosted by TV actress Juhi Parmar and noted comedian-actor Kapil Sharma.
