BOLLYWOOD PRODUCERS v/s MULTIPLEX OWNERS DEADLOCK CONTINUES

BOLLYWOOD PRODUCERS v/s MULTIPLEX OWNERS DEADLOCK CONTINUES

Ongoing tussle between Bollywood Producers and Multiplex Owners over profit sharing is still on and hence there is no respite to the Movie buffs, who are fed up of this stalemate and are devoid of new Hindi Films release.

The said strike started on April 4 and since then there have been no big releases of Hindi movies, as a result film lovers have to watch the re-run of old movies as Ghajini, Rock On etc.

Well the cause of the strike is the exisiting profit sharing between Producers and Multiplex Owners which at present is 50-55% of the earnings for the multiplexes in the 1st week of film release. This increases to 55-60% in the 2nd week and as high as upto 705 in the subsequent 3rd & 4th weeks. As a result, Bollywood Producers are demanding for a flat 50-50 profit sharing for all the weeks, whereas the exhibitors are asking for a performance based arrangements depending upon the film response.

Film lovers are eagerly awaiting for the fight to be over so that they are able to relish the new Hindi blockbusters.
