SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE - OSCAR CHANCES ???
India is waiting eagerly for the OSCAR AWARDS NITE which will be staged in HOLLYWOOD, LA tonite. The reason being A.R. RAHMAN, who has been nominated for 3 OSCAR nominations for - Best Original Score, Best Songs (Jai Ho and O Saya).
Moreover, this film directed by DANNY BOYLE, has bagged a total of 10 OSCAR nominations - Best Film, Best Adapted Screenplay (Simon Beaufoy), Best Director (Danny Boyle), Best Cinematography (Anthony Dod Mantle), Best Original Score (A R Rahman), Best Songs (Jai Ho and O Saya), Best Sound Editing (Tom Sayers), Best Sound Mixing (Ian Tapp, Richard Pryke and Resul Pookutty), and Best Film Editing (Chris Dickens).
The film based on the story of a Mumbai boy Jamal Malik, who has been brought up in SLUMS and who goes on to win Rs.2 Crore in a game show "Who Wants to be a Millionaire". The movie has created ripples by bagging GOLDEN GLOBE & BAFTA AWARDS and is a hot favourite in OSCAR also.
